  • The Elephant boatyard is situated on the West Bank of the Hamble river opposite Swanwick marina and can be recognised by large green building displaying a silhouette of an elephant (what else)

    Berthing fees have again been held at a staggering 50p per foot including electric. The yard do not work on weekends and I will collect the berthing fees and deliver to them on Monday. Please could you kindly bring cash as we have no card facility.

    Please aim to arrive at slack water as the ebb tide is extremely strong and there is a high Spring tide on the Elephant weekend.

    If coming by car please be advised that the access road to the Elephant is extremely steep and the suggestion is that you park in Lane End Road and walk down to the pub or boatyard.

    We will be eating in the Jolly Sailor which is next door to the boatyard and a menu is attached. Please notify me of you choices identifying each menu choice to a specific person by Monday the 2nd October.

    Assuming clement weather we will be holding a pontoon party at 18.00, drinks and nibbles etc.

    This is our last rally of 2017 and is always popular, we only have nine spaces available so early registration is advised.

    Ratatouille braised Provençale vegetable stew in a rich tomato sauce, with fluffy white long grain rice and a red chimichurri dressing £11.00

    Woodland Chicken oven roasted supreme of chicken, crushed new potatoes, French beans with a wild mushroom & tarragon cream sauce £13.75

    Gloucestershire Old Spot Loin of Pork 8oz pork loin chop, crispy crackling, spring onion champ, roasted red onion, sage & mustard butter and a red wine sauce £13.75

    10oz Rib Eye Steak with garlic butter, gem lettuce & micro cress salad and fries £19.00

    The H&W Burger two British chuck beef patties double stacked with melted Monterey Jack cheese, smoked streaky bacon and slathered with our secret recipe burger sauce £13.50

    All our burgers are served in a toasted brioche bun and topped with shredded cos, sliced tomato & gherkin, with skin-on French fries
