• In 1916 Shackleton sailed 800 nM in the 'James Caird' along with 5 crew from Elephant Is to South Georgia in order to rescue the remainder of his crew left behind after the wreck of his Antarctic mother ship 'Endurance'.    Martin and 7 colleagues chartered a yacht to retrace the events of this epic journey.
