Visit to HMCG SAR (Search and Rescue) Helicopter Unit

A visit has been arranged to the facility of the HM Coastguard SAR (Search and Rescue) Helicopter Unit at Lee-on-Solent.

Date: Sunday, 7th January

Timing:  Prompt start at 14:00 hrs.

The visit will last approximately 1½ hours (including time for questions)

The visit will be conducted by Richard Norris, Chief Pilot Lee-on-Solent.

Now operated by Bristow Helicopters Limited on behalf of HM Coastguard, we’ve all seen the rescue helicopter at one time or another above the Solent, well this is a chance to visit the base from which the new Leonardo AW189 helicopter operates and learn more about the valuable service they provide.

The visit is free of charge, however we will have a collection, the proceeds of which will go to a charity nominated by the Unit.

Maximum of 15 places ONLY.

Members must register via the GCCC website.

Registration is  available from the afternoon of Tuesday 5th December on a first come, first served basis

Members and Partner members must each register individually.
