Workshop - Chartering

This is an opportunity to find out more about the Chartering world, and also for experienced charterers to contribute their knowledge and experience for the benefit of others.

Chartering represents an alternative version of sailing - you pay to use the asset of a boat, without owning it. As a result the economic model is very different, most of the potential risks are reduced, but events have to be carefully planned, often long in advance. Some of our club Members do both ownership and chartering!!

• Different economic models Chartering members have experienced
• Large companies, small companies, individuals?
• Chartering locations UK, Med and Caribbean any other
• Makes of yacht that are most commonly available
• Concerns with respect to safety and maintenance
• Type of sailing
• Chartering with children
• How to organize, qualifications needed, how much experience is required, how many people, etc
• Other Pros and Cons of chartering

NB: The Bar will be open from 20:00 hrs. as usual and the Workshop will begin around 20:30 hrs.  Please come along in person and support your Club, meet other Members, and provide any expertise you may have. This Workshop will not be available over Zoom.
